Mitchell Santner becomes the first New Zealand bowler to take a fifer in World Cup

Mitchell Santner made life difficult for the Dutch batsmen as he took a sensational five-wicket haul and became the first-ever Kiwi bowler to take a 5-fer for New Zealand in the World Cup.

The Black Caps faced the Netherlands at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and registered a huge victory by a margin of 99 runs.

Santner dismissed Max O’Dowd, Colin Ackermann, Scott Edwards, Roelof van der Merwe and Ryan Klein to complete his five-wicket haul in Hyderabad.

Batting first, New Zealand piled up a formidable total of 322/7 in 50 overs.

Opener Devon Conway laid a solid foundation with 32 runs, while Will Young (70), Rachin Ravindra (51), Daryl Mitchell (48), and Tom Latham (53) gave their best.
