The debutants of Indian Cricket team in World Cup 2023

1. Shubman Gill

This young prodigy is a talent to watch out for in the ongoing World Cup 2023 in India. Gill has been in astonishing form in 50-overs cricket in 2023. He has 10 fifty-plus scores in 20 innings under his name this year to mark himself as first choice opening partner with Rohit.

As per the team's update last day, Shubman Gill is suffering from dengue and will miss out the first two matches of World Cup. Ishan Kishan is likely to open with Rohit Sharma

2. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer has spent a long time away from the field since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played in India earlier this year. Iyer is also set to make his World Cup debut. He will be taking India’s crucial batting position in the middle order as the number 4 batter.

3. Shardul Thakur

After the 2019 World Cup, Shardul Thakur has been among the leading wicket-takers for India in ODIs. Shardul Thakur will also be making his debut to boost India’s lower-order batting.

4. Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj will also be playing the first-ever World Cup event in his career. Siraj is one of the most improved pace bowlers in the game. Siraj bowled a magnificent spell (6/21) to bowl out Sri Lanka in just 50 runs total in the Asia Cup 2023 final in Colombo.

5. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan will be in line to make his World Cup debut in this edition. This will be Kishan’s first World Cup in his career, and he will be playing a major role in India’s campaign. As Shubman will miss the first two matches, he might open with the captain.
