HE REPLACED NOVAK DJOKOVIC IN THE ATP RANKING AFTER WINNING THE TITLE OF THE QUEENS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.

ALCARAZ WON HIS MAIDEN TITLE ON GRASS, DEFEATING AUSTRALIA’S ALEX DE MINAUR 6-4, 6-4 AT THE QUEEN’S CLUB ON SUNDAY

DJOKOVIC DEFEATED ALCARAZ IN THE SEMI-FINAL, SEALING A 6-3 5-7 6-1 6-1. 

HE SET A NEW MEN’S SINGLES RECORD AND OVERTOOK RAFAEL NADAL’S HAUL OF 22 GRAND SLAMS. 

AFTER WINNING THE FINAL, HE ALSO TOPPLED ALCARAZ TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD NO. 1 SPOT IN THE ATP RANKINGS.

ALCARAZ EXPLAINED THAT HE IS ‘ONE OF THE FAVOURITES TO WIN WIMBLEDON’ BUT DOESN’T HAVE ANY EXPECTATIONS.
