Colombia create history after defeating Jamaica by 1-0

Colombia have made history with a 1-0 victory over Jamaica, winning a FIFA Women’s World Cup knockout stage game for the first time.

Jamaica sat back and looked to release their talisman Khadija Shaw to create chances in transition, countering Colombia’s attacking.

The game came into life in the second half when a superb switch of play from Ana Guzman found her captain Catalina Usme

She slotted home with aplomb to become the first player to score against Jamaica at these global finals. Colombia will face now England in the Quarter-Final on 12th August.
