The proceedings kicked-off with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill giving India a strong start. The pair added 100 runs together before Gill fell for 51(32) in the 12th over. Shubman Gill missed out from scoring his maiden world cup ton against Sri Lanka in 2023 World Cup.

Virat Kohli, who is in red-hot form, also chipped in 51, following which Rahul and Iyer took charge. Rahul cored 102 off 64 balls, while Iyer returned unbeaten for 128(94). KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer scored tons as India put up their second highest world cup total ever.
