Mohammed Shami needs three wickets to script history

Mohammed Shami is 3 wickets away from recording 50 wickets in ODI world cups. He will be the only Indian bowler to reach the milestone.

Shami has taken only 15 matches to pick 47 wickets. The right-arm quick has three 5-wicket hauls. In the current World Cup, Shami has 16 wickets.

Only six bowlers have breached the 50-wicket mark in World Cup history.

Mitchell Starc and Trent Boult are the only active cricketers to achieve the feat. Mohammed Shami is now eight on the list of leading wicket-takers in World Cups.

Aussie legend Glenn McGrath tops the chart with 71 wickets.
