Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar and Washington Sundar have been added to the Indian squad for the second Test against England.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the announcement after KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were ruled out due to injuries.
KL Rahul missed out due to a hamstring injury while Jadeja was left out after he complained of a right quadriceps pain.
Sarfaraz earned his maiden India call-up after recently putting in an impressive performance against the England Lions in the 4-day unofficial Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The 26-year-old won the Player of the Match award after he scored 161 runs off 160 balls with the help of 18 fours and 5 sixes. Back in the 2022 Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz hammered 982 runs at an average of 122.75 with 4 hundreds and 2 fifties to his name.
