With 10 medals at the Paris Para Athletics world championship 2023, India registered their best-ever medal haul in Championship history. They bettered their record from 2019 when India won nine medals in Dubai. This year, India bagged three gold medals, four silver medals and three bronze medals to go ahead of their previous record. Along with that, 18 Indian para-athletes qualified for the Paris Paralympics 2024 as well. This championship served as the first qualifier event for all athletics events at theย 2024 Summer Paralympics.

Ajeet Singh created a championship record in Menโ€™s Javelin Throw F46 event with a 65.41m throw. 24-year old Rinkuโ€™s season-best 65.38m throw earned him a silver as well in the same event. Sumitโ€™s 70.83m throw in the F64 category gave India second gold at the championship. Meanwhile, Indiaโ€™s third gold came from Khilari Sachin with his 16.21m throw in the Menโ€™s Shotput F46 event.
