Indian athletes have put on a show at competitions in Europe in the last few days. Hurdler Jyothi Yarraji has won the gold medal at the T-Meeting 2023 Athletics Meet in Tilburg, the Netherlands, on Monday.

The 23-year-old Jyothi clocked 13.20s in the final to win the T-Meeting 2023 Athletics event in the Category E world ranking competition. On her way to the final, Jyoti topped the heat with a timing of 13.08s. Belgium's Angel Agwazie meanwhile won the silver in 13.64 and Dutch athlete Mira Groot won the bronze in 13.78s. This was Jyothi Yarraji's second gold medal in two days. The Andhra sprinter on Saturday won the gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles event at the Kurpfalz Gala 2023 athletics meet, in Weinheim, Germany. In Germany, Jyothi clocked a season-best time of 12.84 seconds, just 0.02 seconds away from her national record, for a medal in the final at the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger meet.

In the same meet, India's Sapna Kumari finished fourth in the women's 100 m hurdles event, but did not start in the final. Meanwhile, Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath won the bronze medal in the men's 400m event at the T-Meeting 2023 Athletics with a timing of 48.43s. The 27-year-old has a personal best of 48.22, which he clocked in 2022 at Thenhipalam, Kerala in 2022. In the 100 meters, Amlan Borgohain ran the heats in 10.55 seconds to finish fourth. Although, he did not line up for the final.

In addition, Australia's Julian Konle finished second with a jump of 16.60m. While local athlete Dimítrios Tsiamis finished third with a jump of 16.33m. In the men's long jump event at the T-Meeting 2023 Athletics, India's Jeswin Aldrin finished fifth with a best jump of 7.66m. 21-year-old Jeswin created the men's long jump national record. He cleared 8.42m at the National Open Jump Competition in Bellary earlier this year. The gold medal went to Jalen Rucker of Australia, who jumped 7.86 metres. While France's Jules Pommery (7.84m) and Nikolaos Stamatonikolos (7.81m) of Greece won the silver and bronze respectively.
