India's G Sathiyan, along with Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra, advanced to the men's doubles and mixed doubles pre-quarterfinals of the World TT Championships, here on Monday.

Sathiyan and Sharath defeated the Hungarian-Danish pair of Bence Majoros and Anders Lind in straight games 11-5, 11-4, 15-13 in their World TT Championships Round of 32 match. After that, Sathiyan teamed up with Manika to win 8-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 against Brazilian pair of Eric Jouti and Lucakumahara after losing the first game.

Meanwhile, in the women's doubles event, the world no 13 pairing of Batra and Archana Kamath secured their place in the last-16 with a 11-5, 11-7, 11-7 win over Hungary's world No 28 Dora Madarasz and Georgina Pota.

Sharath, however, lost in the second round of singles against Lee Sang Su of Korea. World number 56 Sharath was defeated by the world number 33 player 11-4, 13-11, 11-8, 12-10. Defending national champion Sreeja Akula also crashed out of the women's singles event after going down 2-11, 4-11, 2-11, 4-11 to world No. 10 Ying Han of Germany.

Up against the USA's Nikhil Kumar and Amy Wang, world No 24 Manav Thakkar and Kamath lost 11-6, 9-11, 5-11, 11-5, 9-11. In the women's doubles, the world No 91 pairing of Akula and Diya Chitale lost to China's top-ranked pairing of Sun Yingsha-Wang Manyu 8-11, 8-11, 11-13. Harmeet Desai and Manush Shah also bowed out of the men's doubles after losing to Japan's world No 2 team of Shunsuke Togami and Yukiya Uda.
