Taking forward her impressive winning streak, India's rising shuttler Unnati Hooda won the pre-quarterfinal match of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2022 U17 and U15 with an easy win in Nonthaburi, Thailand on Thursday.

Unnati Made it to the U17 women's singles quarterfinals of the Badminton Asia Junior Championships 2022. The Odisha Open champion defeated Thailand's Nutchavee Sittiteeranan 21-11, 21-19 in the last-16 match. Starting the match with confidence, Unnati easily won the first game but found a tough fight in the second game. However, the Indian player kept his cool despite being level at 18-18 and took the game as well as the match comfortably in her favor. Top seed Unnati will now take on Min Ji Kim of South Korea in the quarterfinals on Friday.

On the other hand, Dhruv Negi and Anmol Kharb had to face defeat in the other U17 pre-quarterfinals. While fifth seed Dhruv lost 16-21 13-21 to Ryan Widyanto of Indonesia in the men's section. On the other hand, Anmol gave a tough challenge to Malaysia's Dania Sofea in women's singles. But she lost in a close match 17-21, 21-19, 13-21.

Apart from Unnati, India's two doubles pairs also won to enter the pre-quarterfinals of the Under17 event. The men's doubles pair of Arsh Mohammad and Sanskar Saraswat took just 20 minutes to beat their Indonesian opponents. They defeated Daniswara Mahrizal and Andre Mukuan with a scoreline of 21-12, 21-10.

Whereas, the mixed doubles combination of Arul Ravi and Srinidhi Narayanan registered a comfortable 21-14, 21-17 win over Thailand's Rachaprung Akat and Hatthip Mijad.
