India badminton sensation PV Sindhu won the Syed Modi International 2022 after defeating Malvika Bansod in the women's singles final. Two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu eased past young opponent Malvika Bansod in straight games to win her second women's singles title.

It was Sindhu's second Syed Modi title, following her annexation of the BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament in 2017. Sindhu used her massive skills and experience to great advantage, as Bansod struggled to adapt to her rival's game from the very beginning. The bronze medalist set off right away and quickly built a 7-0 lead. The ace player took advantage of her height and strength to extend her edge to 11-1 at halftime. Bansod tried to improve her game after the break, scoring a few points to reduce the gap. Eventually, she was no match for Sindhu, who won the first game with absolutely flawless ease.

The second game, on the other hand, produced a more competitive match, with Bansod doing her best to improve her performance. Nonetheless, it was insufficient to put Sindhu's class to the test. Sindhu mixed her smashes with exquisite drop shots, which Bansod couldn't match as Sindhu stormed to an 11-4 halftime lead. Sindhu kept playing in the same manner, despite Bansod's best efforts to make a comeback. Bansod scored four points consecutively to shorten the gap to 17-12. Afterwards, she scored four more points, but she lacked the poise and class that Sindhu possessed as she easily won the match.
