India's Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun reached the quarterfinals of the BWF World Championships 2022 by defeating Terry Hee and Loh Kean Hean. India's unseeded pair won 18-21, 21-15, and 21-16 in a thrilling encounter that lasted 58 minutes.

Now they will face Indonesia's Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan. Kapila and Arjun had defeated eighth seed and previous bronze medalist Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark in the second round.

Saina Nehwal has been knocked out of the Badminton World Championships 2022. The Indian shuttler lost to Thailand's Busanon Ongbamrungphan in the pre-quarterfinals.

Saina fell behind quite a bit in the first game against Busanon. The Indian shuttler was not able to cope. The 26-year-old Busanon was leading 17-7 at one point against the 32-year-old Saina. But Saina fought back from there. He reduced the gap a lot by picking up a few points. But in the end, Busanon won the first game 21-17.

Kidambi Srikanth, the former top-ranked player in the world, has been knocked out of the Badminton World Championship. On the other hand, Lakshya Sen reached the pre-quarterfinals. He will face HS Prannoy in the last 16. Men's doubles' Satwiksairaj Rankeyreddy and Chirag Shetty will also play their pre-quarterfinal matches.
