India's young badminton player Priyanshu Rajawat has reached the main draw of the Madrid Spain Masters badminton tournament. The 21-year-old Priyanshu made it to the main draw by winning the men's singles qualifiers of the tournament being held in Madrid, Spain.

World No. 60 Priyanshu defeated world No. 70 Uriel Canjura 21-16, 21-12 in the first qualifier of the men's singles. After this, in the second qualifier match, Priyanshu won a tough match against World No. 53 Alex Lanier of France. Priyanshu managed to win this match which lasted for more than an hour by 21-18, 18-21, 21-15. After that, he reached the Madrid Spain Masters Badminton main draw. Priyanshu will face Victor Svendsen of Denmark in the round of 32 on Wednesday.

Apart from Priyanshu, another Indian player Meiraba Luwang Maisnam played the Madrid Spain Masters Badminton qualification match but lost. India's Kidambi Srikanth, B Sai Praneeth, Mithun Manjunath, Kiran George, and Sameer Verma also entered in the men's singles main draw.

Meanwhile, the doubles main draw matches were also played in the Madrid Spain Masters Badminton tournament on Monday, in which India got mixed results. Indian pair of N Sikki Reddy and Arathi Sara Sunil won the first round of women's doubles to make it to the second round. While the pair of Ashwini Bhat K and Shikha Gautam bowed out in the first round itself. India's pair of Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker also bowed out in the women's doubles qualification match.

At the same time, in the first round of men's doubles, the pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila defeated Scotland's Grimmley brothers 16-21, 21-17, 21-12 to advance to the next round. But the pair of Krishna Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Panjala lost in the Madrid Spain Masters Badminton first round. Rohan Kapoor-N Sikki, B Sumeeth Reddy-Ashwini Ponnappa, and Navaneeth Bokka-Priya Konjengbam also bowed out in the mixed doubles qualification.
