PV Sindhu has lost against Tai Tzu Ying in the Malaysia Open 2022 quarter-finals in Kuala, Lampur on July 1, Friday. She put up an amazing fight and was too close to the win but overall, Tokyo silver medalist Tai Tzu Ying showed her dominance and won the match by 21-13, 15-21, 13-21.

The world No.7 PV Sindhu had weak record against Tai Tzu Ying. Earlier Sindhu has only won 5 matches against Tai ,lost 14 matches. Besides, in the last year Tokyo Olympics Tai defeated Sindhu in the semifinals and end her bid for a historic gold medal. The 26-year old was struggling to win against Tai as she lost all the previous five matches between them. Sindhu couldn't end her losing streak against Tai in the Malaysia Open 2022 quarter-finals.
The Taiwanese badminton player has already won the Thailand Open and Indonesia Open titles this year. She is looking for her third consecutive title. Before coming into this game, She defeated Lianne Tan and Kristin Kubba in straight sets. The 28-year old is so much confident and one of the most consistent player of this time.

Sindhu put up an amazing fight against Tai and was too close to win the match. In the first set, Sindhu started to dominate Tai and won the first round by 21-13. In the second round, Tai come back into the game and won the set by 21-15, taking the game to a Nail-biting situation. In the third and final round Tai completely grip the game by 21-13 and progress to the semi-final.
Later in the day, HS Prannoy will face Jonathan Christie in the men's singles quarter-finals.
