Double Olympic medalist PV Sindhu slipped three places to be 15th in the latest BWF Rankings released on Tuesday. Earlier, Sindhu had dropped out of the elite top 10 in the appeal this year. She now has 51,070 points from 13 tournaments. Meanwhile, Akane Yamaguchi of Japan is on top with 1 lakh 03 thousand 717 points in women's singles of the latest BWF rankings.

Sindhu was injured during the Commonwealth Games last year. Due to which she stayed away from the game for 5 months. Sindhu hasn't advanced past the second round in any of the other seven BWF World Tour events she's competed in so far this year, except the Madrid Masters where she reached the final and a top-four finish at the Malaysia Masters. Now she will participate in the Canada Open Super 500 tournament today.

In April 2017, the former world champion attained her career-high position of No. 2 in the world. The 27-year-old, who won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022, has battled with her form this season after returning from a protracted injury layoff.

On the other hand, Sindhu's fellow Olympic medal-winner Saina Nehwal remained rooted to the 30th position in the women's singles of the latest BWF rankings, followed by Aakarshi Kashyap (42), Ashmita Chaliha (44) and Malvika Bansod (46).

Meanwhile, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are at number three in the doubles rankings. In men's singles, HS Prannoy is at number eight while Lakshya Sen is at number 19. Apart from this, Kidambi Srikanth is at the 20th position. In women's doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have lost one place. Now they are at the 17th position. In men's doubles, MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila got the 26th ranking. In mixed doubles, Rohan Kapoor and N Sikki Reddy are ranked 33rd.
