According to the reports, the former Zimbabwe captain turned down the offer because of his busy schedule and has also informed the board about this as well. The Pakistan cricket team wanted to appoint him as the head coach for the men's team as a replacement of Misbah-ul-Haq. The decision of this replacement was taken after the T20i series between Pakistan and England where England defeated Pakistan 2-1 in July.

Andy Flower is associated with many T20 leagues globally after his successful period as the England head coach. Firstly, he is the head coach of Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Secondly, he is the head coach of Saint Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Thirdly, he is also the head coach of the Delhi Bulls in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Lastly, he is the management staff of Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and also works with Anil Kumble.

Andy had a talk with the Pakistan Cricket Board. He informed them that he wants to be in franchise cricket as of now. Therefore he will not be able to accept the offer of coaching the Pakistan national team.
