Ben Stokes is an impeccable player and a key all-rounder and an asset for the England cricket team. His return to the England squad definitely increases their chance of competing against Australia one step ahead. Ben Stokes took a long break from cricket during July to take care of his mental health and recover from the second operation of his broken finger.

Also, he was not included in the initial squad of the series. Later, the England and Wales Cricket Board decided that he will be available for the Ashes 2021-22. The captain of the English test team, Joe Root believes that it is massive news for the England cricket team. He believes that Stokes will work on everything to rediscover himself for executing a great performance in the test series.

ESPNCricinfo quoted Joe Root:

Joe Root said on Tuesday, "Obviously, it's massive news. Speak to anyone within the game, whether they'd prefer to have Ben in their team or not, and everyone would say they would."

He further added, "Although we all know what Ben is capable of, we're still managing expectations. He's been out of the game a long time, he's had a serious injury and he's got a lot of work to do to get himself back to the Ben Stokes we all know."

"But if there's one thing we can bet on with Ben it's that he'll do everything he can to ready himself and then put in performances that help England win games of cricket."
