The 2022 edition of the Asia Cup is all set to take place in the United Arab of Emirates (UAE) from August 27 to September 11. All five Test teams including Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh are set to feature in the competition, with one more team to join them after a qualifying tournament.

For the qualifier event, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Wednesday (August 10) announced the schedule. As per schedule, it will be played in Oman from August 20 to August 24.
The qualifier clash will feature four teams – UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Kuwait – competing for the sixth spot in the main draw.

UAE and Kuwait qualified for the ACC Western Region T20I tournament held in UAE in February 2020 while Singapore. Meanwhile, Hong Kong qualified for the ACC Eastern Region T20I tournament held in Thailand in March 2020.
Sri Lanka will take on Afghanistan in the opening game of the Asia Cup. However, the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for August 28.
