Bangladesh stunned Pakistan in the 12th match of the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 here at Seddon Park, Hamilton. They successfully defended 234, claiming their maiden Women's World Cup win.
Pakistan was cruising on 155/1 at one stage. However, they suffered an untimely batting collapse. Fahima Khatun starred in Bangladesh's phenomenal win with three wickets. Meanwhile, Sidra Ameen's century went in vain.

Bangladesh compiled 234/7 after Pakistan put them in to bat. Fargana Hoque was Bangladesh's top scorer in the match. She smashed 71 runs off 115 balls including 5 boundaries. Skipper Nigar Sultana too contributed with a 46-run knock.
Pakistan openers Nahida Khan and Sidra Ameen added 91 runs. In a matter of a few overs, Pakistan went down from 155/1 to 188/7. Although Ameen stayed till the end, she couldn't get Pakistan home. Ameen played a knock of 104 runs which also includes 8 fours. Fahima Khatun won the Player of the Match award for his bowling figure of 8-0-38-3.
Pakistan Women lost their 18th straight match in the Women's World Cup. They have lost all four matches in the ongoing tournament so far - to India, Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh respectively. Meanwhile, Pakistan has won only two matches in the history of the Women's World Cup. They have lost 24 of 26 matches so far. Pakistan last won a Women's WC match in March 2009.

Bangladesh's Maiden Women's World Cup victory
Bangladesh has won its first-ever Women's World Cup game. Interestingly, Bangladesh men (beat Scotland by 22 runs in 1999) and women both claimed their maiden Cricket World Cup wins in their third match of the tournament.
