India won the toss and chose to bowl first. Shathi Rani Bormon and Shamima Sultana opened into bat but couldn't give the hosts a comfortable start. Minnu Mani came up with the early breakthrough by dismissing Sultana for 17 runs. After a partnership of 25 runs between Shathi Rani & Sobhana, Pooja Vastrakar came up with another breakthrough. Skipper Nigar Sultana got run out after scoring only 2 runs. Shoma Akter played a mature inning of 28 runs to help Bangladesh reach a respectable total of 114 runs.

Bangladesh gave India a quick blow as Shafali Verma lost her wicket for a duck in the very first over. Sultana Khatun came up with another one in the last bowl of the fourth over as she dismissed Jemimah for 11 runs. It looked like, India will face trouble during the chase but Smriti Mandhana & skipper Harmanpreet Kaur sorted everything out. Mandhana smacked 5 boundaries to build an inning of 38 while Harmanpreet scored a beautiful half-century to lead India from the front. Her half-century includes 6 fours and 2 sixes which broke the hopes of the Bangladeshi fans. India chased down the total in the 17th over and got the 1-0 lead into the 3-match series.
