The share of the North East and new state associations may vary a little but all the members of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are in for a major windfall.

The increased share is over and above the recent hike in hosting fees for states for different domestic matches. The match day hosting fee for the Col CK Nayudu Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy and Vijay Merchant Trophy matches is up to Rs 1,75,000 from Rs. 1,00,000.

This is apart from the subsidy for the Ranji Trophy, Col CK Nayudu Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy, and Vijay Merchant Trophy which was increased from Rs. 1,00,000 per match day to INR 1,25,000. Besides, the BCCI has taken into account the ever-rising power cost. They have upped the hosting subsidy for day-night domestic matches from INR 3,50,000 per match to INR 4,50,000 "to cover the increasing cost of floodlight operations."

The AGM is expected to formally approve the Women's IPL, the draft proposal of which has been circulated. Post the AGM, it will start with the sale of media rights for the WIPL before selling the franchises. As reported earlier, there will be five franchises, to begin with.

On ICC Rep and ICC Chair

Meanwhile, the AGM will take place at a five-star hotel in South Mumbai. It will extensively discuss various issues relating to the International Cricket Council (ICC). But, it is unlikely the BCCI will sponsor a candidate to contest for the Chair of the ICC. The nominations for the ICC top position will have to be filed by October 20. However, it is unlikely an Indian will contest for the position.

A few names were previously discussed. But, however eligible candidates like N Srinivasan or Anurag Thakur, both former presidents, are unavailable for different reasons. Outgoing president Sourav Ganguly is also eligible but it is unlikely he will get the BCCI backing.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ICC post on Monday.

"I request the government of India not to make any decision politically but for cricket and sports. Ganguly is not a political party member," Mamata said, requesting the government to nominate Ganguly for the ICC Chair. However, her appeal is unlikely to cut much ice. As for the BCCI representative to the ICC."
