Mohun Bagan Athletic Club created history in Kolkata Club cricket by becoming the first team to sign a professional contract with cricketers. By virtue of this, now the players will be bound to get their full promised fees for the upcoming season. Mohun Bagan Club secretary Debashish Dutta was very much influential to bring this much-needed change for the players.

Every player applauded this effort from Mohun Bagan Club as this contract will now secure their future for the rest of the season. They will now be able to just focus on playing good cricket as the rest will be taken care of by the team management.

Earlier, Debasish Dutta roped in prominent Bengal coach Pranob Nandy to bring success to the club after last year's misfortune. In an exclusive interview with Sportz Point, club co-convenor Monasija Sinha said, "We are very much thankful to Club secretary Mr Debashish Dutta. He has been very much instrumental in all of these. He always wanted to bring transparency to the cricket team. That is why he has decided to bring the professional contract for the players. This will be very much beneficial for the players."

"We are trying to do every possible thing for the Mohun Bagan team and the players. Along with me, the Cricket secretary Mahesh Tigriwal, cricket convenor Ratul Sarkar, and sub-committee members Kaushik Konar, Abhijeet Dey, Shitanshu Das, and Pradeep Kumar Dey are doing everything possible to bring success to the club. We have tried to make a strong team for the upcoming season. Many former players have shown faith in us as well. I am sure we will be able to win trophies for our fans," he expressed.
