Hit-wicket is one of the unluckiest dismissalls in cricket. Batters sometimes try to be too deep in the increase to have more options to score or sometimes just could not control their body while trying to play a shot, hit the stumps to dismissed. Since Jitesh Sharma became the lastest batter to get hit-wicket in T20I cricket, we bring you the list of Indian players to get out hit-wicket in T20I Cricket.

Indian batters to get out hit-wicket in T20I cricket

Here are the Indian batters who got out hit-wicket in T20I cricket:

#1 KL Rahul

During the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, KL Rahul became the first Indian to get out by hit-wicket, against Sri Lanka.

KL Rahul was the first Indian batter to get out hit-wicket in T20I cricket. The Indian batter was out hit-wicket against Sri Lanka in 2018 in the Nidahas Trophy. While trying to play the ball to leg-side against Ajantha Mendis, Rahul unluckily stepped on to the stumps and had to depart after scoring 18 from 17 deliveries. However, India won the match by 4 wickets.

#2 Harshal Patel

In the T20I series against New Zealand in 2021, Harshal Patel became the second Indian batter to get out by hit-wicket in T20Is. In Kolkata, the right-handed batter tried to hit a slower ball from Lockie Ferguson through the point and while doing so, hit the stumps with the bat.

#3 Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is third on our list of Indian players who got out hit-wicket in T20Is. In the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, against England in Adelaide, Hardik tried to flick a ball from Chris Jordan from outside the off-stump. Hardik went inside the crease to whip it through the leg side the and while doing that he hit the stumps with his left leg. Before getting out hit-wicket, Hardik had played a stunning knock of 63 from just 33 balls.

#4 Shreyas Iyer

At Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, during the second T20I of the series on November 20, 2022, Shreyas Iyer became the fourth Indian batter to get out hit-wicket in T20Is. Against Lockie Ferguson, Iyer went back in the crease looking for a short ball. But, then, stepped on the wickets with his heel to get out hit-wicket.

#5 Jitesh Sharma

In the 2023 T20I series against South Africa at Johannesburg, Jitesh Sharma became the fifth and the latest India batter to be out hit-wicket in T20I history. He was the 32nd batter overall to get out this way in international cricket.

The wicket-keeper batter went deep into his crease to create length to hit the ball. Against Lizaad Williams, he tried to do the same. Although he did managed to get the ball over the mid-off for a boundary, he had stepped on the stumps to get dismissed.
