Hyderabad made a brilliant comeback despite Delhi's brilliant start and registered an important victory in the DC vs SRH by 9 runs.

Abhishek Sharma continued to play his strokes while the rest of the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters fell around him. The South African, Heinrich Klaasen gave SRH a good finish with able help from Abdul Samad and Akeal Hosein. SRH scored 197/6 with Klaasen unbeaten on 53 off 27 while Hosein was on 16 off 10. Among the DC bowlers, Mitchell Marsh stood out with figures of 4/27 and he also played a brilliant inning. Marsh put up a 112-run stand with Phil Salt for the second wicket off 66 balls. Both players scored half centuries and it looked like Delhi Capitals were cruising in the chase at the time. However, spinners Mayank Markande and Abhishek Sharma helped SRH fight back and the visitors managed to restrict the hosts to under 188 runs. DC vs SRH: IPL 2023 Match Report

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss & decided to bat first. Abhishek Sharma & Mayank Agarwal started the proceedings with the bat. Ishant Sharma started with the new ball on the other side. Abhishek Sharma smashed the first boundary of the inning for SRH in the second delivery of the first over. He went on to make it consecutive boundaries. Ishant Sharma came back strongly in the third over and dismissed Mayank Agarwal for just 5 runs. Mitchell Marsh then dismissed Rahul Tripathi after scoring 10 runs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost two wickets but Abhishek Sharma kept them in control. 16 runs came off the 6th over as they reached 62 runs after the end of the powerplay. He completed his half-century after slamming a massive six in the next over. Marsh took charge and dismissed Markram for only 8 runs. He also picked up the wicket of Harry Brook in the next delivery for a duck. A double maiden over from Marsh changed the course of the match. Harry Brook alongside Riyan Parag & Prithvi Shaw has been the most poor batter in IPL 2023.

Axar Patel got rid of the set batter Abhishek Sharma in the 12th over after scoring 67 runs in just 36 deliveries with 12 fours & a single six. Klaasen & Samad set up a 53 runs stand and once again turned the game around. Klassen showed his big-hitting abilities and that helped Hyderabad in the death overs. At first, it looked like SRH could only able to put up 150-160 but Klassen & Samad carried the team to a massive total of 197 runs. Marsh picked up his 4th wicket of the night after dismissing Samad for 28 runs. Klassen completed his maiden IPL half-century in the final over with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

Akeal Hosein played a brilliant cameo at the end and with Klassen on his side, Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their inning on a high note. DC would be very unhappy after bowling really well in the death overs. Marsh was the best bowler for Delhi as he scalped 4 crucial wickets. He only gave away 27 runs in his 4-over spell.

DC vs SRH: IPL 2023 Match Report

Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Warner for a duck in the second delivery of the first over. Despite losing the big wicket of Warner, Delhi got a blistering start. Salt & Marsh constructed a brilliant partnership of 112 runs and made it onesided. DC accumulated 57 runs at the power play. Then they managed to score 22 runs in the 7th over.

They carried on their momentum by dominating the opposition bowlers and Delhi scored 105 runs in the first 10 overs. The match completely turned around when Mayank Markhande scalped the wicket of Phil Salt for 59 runs after smashing 9 boundaries. Akeal Hosein then scalped the wicket of Marsh in the next over. He scored 63 runs in 39 deliveries with 6 sixes and a single four.

The partnership broke and the momentum shifted toward Hyderabad completely. Axar Patel played a blistering inning at the end but it was not enough to chase 198. Delhi only managed to put up 188 runs after the end of 20 overs. Mayank Agarwal was the best among the Hyderabad bowlers as he picked up two crucial wickets in his 4-over spell.
