Meanwhile, a decision on the future of head coach Ricky Ponting could be taken at the end of this season. As far as David Warner is concerned, he has been the top run-scorer for Delhi Capitals so far and is sure to continue till the end of the season if he himself does not decide to focus only on the bat. Delhi Capitals have lost all their five matches so far in the IPL 2023. If they lose the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday, then they will become the first team to be out of the playoff race.

The current coaching staff of Delhi Capitals as Director of Cricket is Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting (Head Coach), James Hopes (Assistant Coach), Ajit Agarkar (Assistant Coach), Shane Watson (Assistant Coach), Pravin Amre (Assistant Coach), Biju George (Assistant Coach).

According to reports, the team will not make any decision mid-season but when the franchise's two co-owners JSW and GMR will meet, they will discuss the performance of the season. So definitely there will not be such a big coaching staff in the next season. Some of these will not be the part of the team.

Delhi Capitals have got five consecutive defeats in IPL 2023. The team has lost against Lucknow Super Giants by 50 runs, against Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets, against Rajasthan by 57 runs, against Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets, and against RCB by 23 runs. The Capitals are without their regular captain Rishabh Pant this season. The wicketkeeper-batter sustained injuries after a horrific car crash in December.
