Harshit Rana, the 22-year-old fast bowler from Delhi scored his first first-class ton against North East Zone in the Duleep Trophy 2023. Rana, who is well renowned for his bowling, surprised everyone with long hits at the M.Chinnaswamy stadium.
Harshit only took 75 balls to get to the milestone. A flick towards the mid-wicket was good enough for him to complete his hundred as a few hundred people at the stadium rose up to congratulate him.
The KKR-pacer had only featured in four first-class games before this impressed one and all with the bat coming at number 9. Along with his hundred, it was Dhruv Shorey (135) and Nishant Shandhu's (150) tons that helped North Zone to cross 500-mark. North Zone declared at 540 on Day 2.
Harshit Rana has featured in 6 games for KKR this season and impressed everyone with his pace and aggressive bowling.
KKR Redefines Matchday Atmosphere with Unmatched Tifo Displays during IPL 2025
KKR took fan experience to new heights by unveiling an unprecedented 14 different tifos across 7 home matches, setting a cultural benchmark not just in the IPL, but in Indian sport.
The City of Joy lived up to its billing during the IPL 2025 season as the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) turned Eden Gardens into a pulsating theatre of colour, creativity, and fandom.
The defending champions took fan experience to new heights by unveiling an unprecedented 14 different tifos across 7 home matches, setting a cultural benchmark not just in the IPL, but in Indian sport.
A ‘tifo’ often refers to a choreographed visual display, typically involving large banners, flags, or signs, performed by sports fans.
From electrifying player-centric designs to moments to commemorate the ‘home of champions’, KKR delivered multiple tifos throughout the season, with the marquee clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens witnessing a staggering seven unique tifos being unfurled.

Each tifo was conceptualised and executed to reflect the ethos of the franchise, reflecting fearlessness, expressiveness, and a deep connection to its city and its supporters, while also carrying the famous ‘Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo’ motto.
The unveiling of multiple tifos throughout the season not only added to the matchday experience but also reiterated KKR's commitment to their fans and the atmosphere at Eden Gardens. The initiative not only celebrated the team but also paid tribute to the loyal Knight Riders’ fan base, who have consistently packed the stands and brought the fortress to life.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the resumption of the IPL 2025, bringing cheer to cricket fans across the nation. Following detailed discussions with government and security agencies, the BCCI has confirmed that the season will proceed with a revised schedule, ensuring both safety and excitement.
The remaining 17 matches will be played across six venues, kicking off on May 17, 2025, and concluding with the final on June 3, 2025. The schedule includes two double-header Sundays, adding to the thrill of the tournament. The playoff stage is set as follows:
Qualifier 1: May 29
Eliminator: May 30
Qualifier 2: June 1
Final: June 3
The BCCI expressed gratitude to India’s armed forces for their bravery and resilience, which have made the safe return of the IPL possible. The Board emphasised its commitment to the national interest while ensuring the successful completion of the league.

KKR to wear special kit at training before CSK game, dedicated to their ‘Shahoshi Rani’ initiative
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will wear a special practice jersey, dedicated to their ‘Shahoshi Rani’ initiative, before the KKR vs CSK game tomorrow at Eden Gardens.
As part of their continued commitment to empowering the community and celebrating everyday heroes, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are set to bring their Shahoshi Rani initiative to the ongoing IPL 2025 season. This unique initiative honours women who have shown exceptional bravery, resilience, and determination in the face of adversity.
These Shahoshi Ranis will be at the heart of KKR’s message of celebrating strength, inspiring change, and fostering inclusivity in sport when the defending champions take on the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Eden Gardens on May 7.
As part of the campaign, 40 Shahoshi Ranis will be present at the KKR practice session, having the opportunity to watch the team train, interact with the players and coaching staff, and spend time with franchise co-owner Juhi Chawla, who will also be present to engage with these remarkable women.
Image | KKR
To further amplify the initiative beyond the cricket field, KKR’s practice jerseys ahead of their match against CSK will prominently carry the Shahoshi Rani logo on the back. As a personal gesture of recognition, each player and member of the support staff will also don the names of each Shahoshi Rani beneath the logo, symbolising a bond between the team and the women they are honouring.
In addition, the team will be filming select moments from the practice session, capturing the inspiring interactions between the Shahoshi Ranis and the players. These stories will be shared across digital platforms to spotlight the strength and spirit these women represent, not just to the team, but to the global audience.

Speaking about the initiative, Juhi Chawla, Co-Owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, said, "Shahoshi Rani is more than just a campaign, it’s a celebration of real courage. These women are an inspiration, and we are honoured to share our platform with them. We hope their stories move others as much as they’ve moved us."
The Shahoshi Rani initiative is one of several community-led efforts championed by KKR, reflecting their commitment to using sport as a tool to bring about a positive change, amplify voices that matter and inspire people beyond the cricket field.

Huge win for KKR!
Andre Russell delivered the final blow as KKR wrapped up a dominant victory at Eden Gardens. Harshal Patel attempted a wild heave across the line but only managed to send the ball straight up in the air. Russell calmly took the catch, sealing SRH’s crushing defeat.
It was a one-sided affair, with KKR outclassing their opponents in every department. SRH’s batting lineup crumbled under relentless pressure, and their chase never gained any real momentum. The writing had been on the wall for quite some time.
This emphatic win will be a massive boost for KKR, not just in points but also in net run rate. Meanwhile, SRH will have plenty to reflect on as they attempt to bounce back from this heavy defeat. KKR win by 80 runs.

Double wicket over from Varun!
Here’s the next part of the summary:
Varun Chakravarthy struck twice in the 16th over, tightening KKR’s grip on the match. Pat Cummins fell first, miscuing a slog straight to long on, leaving SRH reeling at eight down. Simarjeet Singh followed immediately, bowled through the gate by a stunning delivery that spun sharply back in.
With SRH down to their last wicket, Mohammed Shami walked in to join Harshal Patel. Chakravarthy nearly completed a hat-trick, but Shami survived. The required run rate had skyrocketed to 21 runs per over, making SRH’s task nearly impossible.
KKR’s disciplined bowling attack continued to strangle SRH, with Varun and Arora leading the charge. Every dot ball pushed SRH further into desperation, and their chase looked all but over.

KKR closer to win!
Sunil Narine struck in the 10th over as Kamindu Mendis mistimed a pull shot straight to deep midwicket. Aniket Verma walked in and immediately made his presence felt with a classy boundary. However, with SRH needing 129 off the last 10 overs, the pressure was mounting.
Varun Chakravarthy joined the attack in the 11th over and removed Aniket Verma, who miscued a slog to deep midwicket. Pat Cummins arrived at the crease and got off the mark with a cheeky lap shot for four. Klaasen, at the other end, looked determined to take the game deep.
Klaasen took charge in the 14th over, smashing Narine for back-to-back sixes to keep SRH's hopes alive. However, KKR missed a chance to dismiss him when UltraEdge revealed a nick that went unnoticed. With the required run rate soaring past 15, SRH needed something special.
Vaibhav Arora delivered a crucial blow in the 15th over, dismissing Klaasen for 33 with a well-disguised slower bouncer. SRH’s chase took another hit, leaving Cummins and Harshal Patel with an uphill task. Despite some quick singles, the asking rate climbed to an almost impossible 17.4 runs per over.
KKR’s disciplined bowling attack, led by Arora and Narine, kept SRH in check. The fall of Klaasen all but sealed the game for KKR, with only tailenders left to chase an improbable 87 off 30 balls. Cummins and Harshal needed a miracle from there.
With the match slipping away, SRH’s batters struggled to find the boundary. KKR’s bowlers maintained tight lines, and the fielders backed them up with sharp work. As the equation worsened, KKR edged closer to sealing a convincing victory at Eden Gardens.

On a wicket where we can expect a slow turn, SRH introduces spin in the 7th over.

Zeeshan bowled a tad short in that over but it was not coming not to the bat that great for Rahane to take charge.

Venkatesh Iyer taking a look at the pitch. Image - RevSportz on Twitter.
After many rumours and speculations, we will see a dry pitch at Eden Gardens, which will surely help the spinners of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Ajinkya Rahane and company will surely look to take the "home advantage" to restrict the batting lineup of SRH.
However, SRH also has someone like Adam Zampa in their ranks, who can be lethal on this wicket as well,
