Ibrahim Zadran's great run in the one-day format continued as he broke another record with the bat. The Afghan opener now is the batter with the highest run in an ODI inning for his country. With his 162 against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series, Ibrahim Zadran went past Mohammad Shahzad's 131* against Zimbabwe in 2015.
Batting at the top of the order Zadran took only 100 balls to get to his third ODI hundred in just 8 innings. Zardan then went on to add more 58 runs in just 38 balls to take the Aghanistan score to 313. Zardan hit 15 fours and 4 sixes in his record-breaking inning.

In just 8 matches for Afghanistan in ODIs, Ibrahim Zadran has the joint-most ODI hundreds by an Afghan batter (3). Currently, he averages 61.85 in this format with 433 runs in his career till now.
However, Ibrahim Zadran's ton was not good enough for the Afghan team to register their historic series win over the Lankans.
An unbeaten 83 off 72 balls from Charith Asalanka made sure the Sri Lankan team levelled the series with 2 balls left in the inning.
