A pair of power-hitters have made leaps in the ICC ODI rankings 2023. An experienced fast bowler is inching closer to the top spot in bowling. According to the ICC report, in the new updated rankings, Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma and Trent Boult have moved towards the top of the ODI player rankings. While Shubman Gill remains in the second spot as Babar extended his lead at the top. At the same time, Bumrah jumped up 7 spots to be in 14th position in the bowlers rankings

The performance of Indian captain Rohit Sharma in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has taken him to the top of the ODI batting rankings. After scoring 131 runs against Afghanistan and 86 runs in 63 balls against arch-rivals Pakistan, Rohit has jumped five places to sixth position.

In a match against Afghanistan on October 11th, 2023, Sharma achieved a milestone by surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most centuries in World Cup history. During this match, he also set several other records. He now holds the record for the fastest century (63 balls) by an Indian batsman in an ODI World Cup, has smashed the most sixes in international cricket (555), and leads the chart for the most centuries in ODI World Cups (7).

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam has achieved 836 rating points and increased his lead in ICC ODI Rankings 2023 by 18 points. India's young player Shubhman Gill remains in second place. While Virat Kohli is joint eighth spot with Dawid Malan of England after scoring two fifties in the first three matches for India in the World Cup.

After dangerous bowling against Bangladesh, New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult has moved closer to the number 1 position in the ODI bowling rankings. Boult is just one rating point behind current leader Josh Hazlewood (660 rating points) after moving up one place in the latest ratings update. The 34-year-old player took the catch of Liton Das on the very first ball of the match and put Bangladesh on the backfoot in the recent Cricket World Cup match.

At the same time, among fast bowlers, India's Jasprit Bumrah (up seven places) and South Africa's Kagiso Rabada (up one place) have moved up to 14th, while Lungi Ngidi has moved up six places to 16th. Bangladesh's experienced Shakib Al Hasan is at number 1 in the ODI all-rounder rankings with 343 rating points. India's Mohammed Siraj is in third position and Kuldeep Yadav is in the eighth spot after his fine start to the World Cup campaign.
