The nominees for the "ICC Player of the Month" of February for men's and women's international cricket have been announced yesterday. The "ICC Player of the Month" nominations in the men's category feature three players in total. However, the nominees consist of a UAE batter Vriitya Aravind, India batter Shreyas Iyer, and Nepal's Dipendra Sing Airee.
The fans around the world can now vote to decide the winners, which will be announced next week.
The youngster from UAE, Vriitya Aravind played a crucial role in UAE's qualification to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022. The qualification round was held in Oman last month. Aravind smashed 267 runs at an average of 89 in the five matches that he played in February. Moreover, he has also maintained a strike rate of 153.33 in those games.
In the opening game, he hammered 97* runs in 67 deliveries against Oman. Meanwhile, after then he carried his form and scored 40, 84*, 46 in the next three games. Although in the fifth game he hasn't performed well. But, already he did enough to win the Player of the Tournament award in the qualification round.
Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer was in top form against Sri Lanka last month to help India to continue their domination in white-ball cricket. He started the February month with a match-winning 80 runs against SL and also grabbed the Player Of The Match award in the final ODI.
Meanwhile, Iyer was promoted to number 3 in the T20I series against the Lankans. Since then, Iyer scored three unbeaten half-centuries in three back-to-back games. He finished on 204 runs with a strike rate of 174.35 and was also awarded as the Player of the Series for his exceptional performance.
Dipendra Singh Airee of Nepal played a crucial role in Nepal's third-place finish in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier in Oman last month. Meanwhile, he was performed with both bat and ball. He finished with 159 runs and 6 wickets in the qualification round. Before the start of the qualification round, he was also played brilliantly against Oman, UAE, and Ireland. He collected 142 runs in three games and also grabbed a four-for in the final game against Ireland.

ICC Anounces Venue and Key Dates for The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 England
ICC has confirmed seven venues that will host the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in England next year, with the Lord's Cricket Ground set as the venue for the Final.
The ICChas officially announced that the Final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be held at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on 5th July. The news was shared during a special launch event at Lord’s on 1st May.
Alongside this major reveal, it was confirmed that the matches will also be played at other popular venues across England, including Edgbaston, the Hampshire Bowl, Headingley, Old Trafford, The Oval, and the Bristol County Ground.
The tournament is set to kick off on 12th June and will run for 24 days, featuring a total of 33 matches leading up to the highly anticipated final at Lord’s. The complete match schedule is expected to be released soon.
