South Africa ended India's World Cup dream as they defeated India by 3 wickets here at the Hagley Oval. With this loss against South Africa, India Women are now officially out of the tournament while the West Indies qualify for the semis. Australia, South Africa, and England have already been qualified for the knockout stage.

Indian skipper Mithali Raj won the toss as she chooses to bat first in a must-win game against the Africans.

India started well as Mandhana and Shafali put up a 91 runs partnership before Shafali got run out on her personal score of 53. Soon Bhatia came and went on just 2 runs. Meanwhile, skipper Mithali Raj took the charge as she scored 68 runs off 84 deliveries. Raj and Kaur boosted up India's scorecard as Kaur finishes on her personal score of 48 off 57.

India Women finishes their inning on 274-4 in respected 50 Overs. Each Mandhana, Shafali, Mithali, and Kaur smashed half-centuries to help India to reach a respectable total.

In the chase, South Africa Women lost their opener Lee while Wolvaardt took the charge. Woolvaardt scored 80 runs off 79 balls. Lara Goodall also contributed 49 runs before getting dismissed by Gayakwad. Du Preez came and helped her team to go down the wire to the last over.

7 runs were needed in the last over to grab the game for the Africans. Meanwhile, Du Preez was there in the middle with keeper-batsman Trisa Shetty. They were taking runs in every ball. However, in the third ball of the over Du Preez tried to take two runs quickly but Kaur shoot the ball, and Deepti cleared the bails to get dismissed Trisa.

3 runs were needed in the last 2 balls. Meanwhile, the drama begins when Deepti got Du Perez's wicket in the fifth delivery of the over but soon the third umpire called it a no-ball. Now, 2 runs were left in 2 deliveries with a free hit on the next ball. Soon, South Africa reached the target in the last ball to end India's hope for the Semis.

Mignon Du Preez won the Player Of The Match award for her inning of 52* runs in 63 balls.
