The iconic India-Pak remained the USP of any major ICC tournament. India is hosting the ICC 2023 World Cup, twelve years after their last win in the 2011 ICC World Cup. Eden Gardens, the iconic stadium in Kolkata, is unlikely to host an India-Pak world cup match. The BCCI hasn't granted the preference of PCB to choose venues on their own. So we are unlikely to see any India-Pak match at Eden Gardens in the 2023 World Cup.
The International Cricket Council has to announce the fixture of the 10 team tournament in the next couple of months. Still, we can expect the tentative dates of this tournament will be from 5th October to 19th November. Also, there are sources that conclude that ICC already denied the request of PCB to place their world cup matches in Calcutta or Chennai. Also, BCCI earlier denied considering Pakistan to play at a neutral venue.

Reports suggested that the PCB spokesperson also dismissed any discussion with ICC regarding their choice of venues for world cup games. Though there are discussions in BCCI to consider Delhi as the favorable ground for Pakistan in the world cup games, still they can't play all their games in a single venue. There are other 12 venues that are also eligible to host at least 4 world cup games.
Ahmedabad is to host the final of the ICC 2023 World Cup and there will be two semifinals. A total of 48 world cup matches in total to be played in this World Cup. There's still no such discussion about the India-Pak match at Eden Gardens. This match is likely to be placed in Chennai or Delhi.
The India-Pakistan match is also not to be organized in Mumbai or Ahmedabad. The knockout matches of the World Cup are placed on these two venues. There will be a key India match likely to be placed if the India-Pak match isn't placed at Eden Gardens.
India hosted World Cup in 2011, where we have seen the semifinal between India-Pakistan at Mohali. The last India-Pak match at Eden Gardens was in the 2016 T20 world cup and since then no other iconic matches have been played.
Usually, ICC announces the fixture of such tournaments a year in advance, but this time it has been delayed due to the Visa clearance of the Pakistan team. BCCI has declared to ICC that visa wouldn't be an issue for the Pakistan team to play in the world cup.
