"We are absolutely delighted to host India and we look forward to a competitive and memorable series."
"It's a big opportunity for the players to play against the Indian players and for the cricketing fraternity in Zimbabwe."
a Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) official told Cricbuzz on Friday
The series is of significant importance to Zimbabwe which needs points to qualify for the tournament next year in India. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and co. have already qualified as the hosts.
It will also be a huge boost in revenue for the African side. The last time India toured Zimbabwe was back in June-July 2016. MS Dhoni was still the captain of the side back then.
According to ANI, the India B team will travel to Zimbabwe and VVS Laxman will be the coach on this tour.
Expected schedule for India tour of Zimbabwe:
1st ODI - 18th August
2nd ODI - 20th August
3rd ODI - 22nd August

Meanwhile, the Indian team led by Rohit is currently playing a white-ball series against England. They have won the first T20I with two more to go set to be played on July 9 and 10. Considering the hectic schedule, the BCCI might once again opt to send a second-string team, similar to what they had done for the white-ball series in Sri Lanka last year.
