India will shine their preparations for the upcoming mega event in Australia with this T20I series against the Proteas. As we know, India hasn't won a single T20I series against South Africa in history. However, now they will be looking to break that barrier and add another series win here.

The news from the side is pacer Mohammed Shami is yet to recover from Covid-19, while Deepak Hooda is suffering a back injury, which ruled him out of the T20I series. Hardik Pandya has been rested for the entire series to prepare better for the mega event.

Shreyas Iyer and Shahbaz Ahmed have been called up as like-for-like replacements for Hooda and Hardik. However, Umesh Yadav will continue his stint with the team in place of Shami.
