INDvsAUS 2nd ODI: Match Report
Australia dominated India with their bowling attack after deciding to ball first
Starc was the destructor in chief for Australia with the new ball in the first ODI, here he is again. Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill all fell to him. Rohit Sharma has had his own problems to deal with against left-arm pace. Shubman Gill hit the ball toward the point fielder and Australia got their first wicket. Although India lost an early wicket, they still reached 32 runs in the first four overs. The fifth over completely changed the course of the match.
The left-arm curse strikes again for the Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Edged and caught at first slip by Steve Smith, a fine catch by the Australian captain. On the next ball, Starc sent Suryakumar Yadav to the pavilion by lbw and he was on a hattrick for the second game in a row. He missed his hattrick chance but a double wicket maiden from Starc was everything, that Australia needed. Starc just didn't stop there and went on to take his fourth wicket by sending Rahul for only 9 runs.
Hardik Pandya also failed to contribute to his team as Sean Abbott claimed the wicket. Steve Smith with a blinder at the first slip. Ravindra Jadeja came in & with Virat Kohli, he made a good partnership but Nathan Ellis dismissed Virat Kohli on his very second delivery of the match for 31 runs & India lost their sixth wicket for just 71 runs on the scoresheet. Ellis picked up Ravindra Jadeja quite brilliantly as Alex Carey took the catch.
Axar Patel fought till the end & remained not out with 29* important runs for India. Sean Abbott sent Kuldeep & Shami both back to the dugout in the same over as India lost their ninth wicket for 103 runs. Mitchell Starc with the last blow helped to bundle out the Indian batting lineup for only 117 runs as he took his fifth wicket of the match.
