Sanju Samson is set to be added to India's squad for the INDvsAUS ODI series in Shreyas Iyer's place. During the fourth Test of the INDvsAUS at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, star Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer injured his lower back. He is currently under the supervision of the medical team and has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Australia.

Earlier, Shreyas Iyer could not play the 3-match ODI series against New Zealand and the first Test against Australia. In a medical update, the BCCI had said, Shreyas Iyer complained of pain in his lower back after the third day's play. He has gone for scans and the BCCI medical team is monitoring him.

Sanju has been in excellent form of late and he specializes in explosive batting. From the INDvsAUS series itself, Team India would like to find the right team combination for the ODI World Cup 2023. In such a situation, Sanju can prove to be an important batsman for India in the middle order.

Sanju Samson last played for India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Where he injured his leg while fielding, due to which he has to step back from the T20 series against Sri Lanka. Now he has recovered and is ready to return to Team India. He has won many matches for Team India on his own. Moreover, Sanju has scored 330 runs in 11 ODIs for the team. At the same time, he has scored 301 runs for India in 17 T20 matches.

Meanwhile, the first INDvsAUS ODI match starts on 17 March. At the same time, the second ODI will happen on March 19 and the third ODI on March 22. The INDvsAUS ODI series is very important for both teams in terms of the upcoming ODI World Cup. Hardik Pandya will lead the team in the first match. After that, Rohit Sharma will join the team from the second and third ODIs.
