Indian middle-order batter Rahul Tripathi makes his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in the ongoing INDvSL T20I series. Rahul replaced Sanju Samson in the Indian playing XI as he was ruled out of the series due to an injury.
The Ranchi-born batter plays for Maharashtra in domestic cricket and has played for four franchises in the Indian Premier League. Rahul burst into the scene after having a good season with Rising Pune Supergiant in the 10th edition of the IPL.
Then Rahul had to make a move to Rajasthan Royals where he gradually build up confidence and scored a brilliant fifty in the final group game of that season to announce himself in the grandest stage.
Till now, Tripathi has scored 1798 runs in the IPL with a strike rate of 140.8 before making his T20I debut in the INDvSL series.
