Punjab Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders convincingly to make a way for DC to the playoffs. With 16 points in 11 matches in the IPL 2021 points table, Delhi Capitals qualified for the playoffs After CSK they are now the 2nd team to confirm their place in the playoffs of this season. Nitish Rana played a brilliant cameo as he finishes on 31 runs in just 18 deliveries with 2 fours and 2 sixes. The debutant for KKR, Tim Seifert came at the 18th over and got run out in the next over by Shami. However, KKR finishes on a good total of 165-7 runs in 20 overs. Although, for PBKS Arshdeep took 3 wickets and Ravi Bishnoi took a double. As Mohammad Shami takes a wicket with a run out in the 19th over.

Punjab Kings openers skipper KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal come to the crease to chase the target. As Mayank started to flowing boundaries and over boundaries back to back. Punjab Kings finishes for 168-5 runs in 19.3 overs and registered a 5 wickets win over KKR. KL Rahul scored 67 runs in 55 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 over boundaries. However, KKR pays for playing with only 4 specialist bowlers at the end.

With this win, Punjab Kings are now back again in the race for the playoffs. Moreover, they are now in 5th place in the IPL 2021 points table. On the other hand, KKR has also the same points in the same matches but they have a better net run rate in comparison to Punjab Kings.
