IPL 2022 mega auction is all set to begin in the month of February in Bengaluru after a lot of postponement. According to reports, a total of 1214 cricketers including 207 cat plays and 312 uncapped players submitted their names for this year's auction. Unfortunately, there are so many successful cricketers and big names of the IPL who did not enter the auction pool.

Players who did not register their names:
Big names of IPL like Jofra Archer and Mitchell Starc withdrew their names just a few weeks before the 15th edition of the tournament. Jofra Archer could not participate in IPL 2021 due to an injury but he is back to the game now. Yet he is not willing to participate in the upcoming auction. On the other hand, Michelle Starc's withdrawal looks seems an odd one as he previously mentioned that he thought of participating in IPL this year.
Starc said earlier, "I've got two days to get my paperwork in, so that might be something to do today before training. I've not put my name down just yet, but I've got a couple more days to decide on that. It's certainly on the table regardless of what the schedule has got coming up. I'm feeling good. It's (Selection) purely up to the selectors, I'm not looking for a break. It's the last Test match of an Ashes series at home, it's the pink ball too so I'd very much like to play."
Also, Joe Root and Ben stokes joined the likes of Jofra and Starc and are not participating in this year's mega auction. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, Sam Curran, Chris Gayle, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Michelle Starc, and Jofra Archer are some of the most successful players in the IPL who are absentees this year.

Gayle might stepped down due to age concerns
The Universe Boss Chris Gayle is one of the greatest names in the history of IPL. Unfortunately, the IPL 2022 mega auction will continue without his presence. Even he did not participate in IPL 2021 fully as he pulled out of the tournament midway last year due to bio bubble fatigue.
Ben Stokes clarified everything previously and announced that he won't be available for this auction to concentrate solely on England's test preparation especially after the Ashes. Chennai Super Kings did not retain Sam Curran this year. His unavailability from this year's auction is still unknown.
Among the registered cricketers for the mega auction, 41 come from the associate nations and 49 cricketers listed their base price at the highest amount of INR 2 crore.
