IPL 2022 U-23 XI.

IPL 2022 U-23 XI

#1 Prithvi Shaw (C)

Shaw is undoubtedly the best U-23 cricketer in Indian cricket right now. He has already played at the international level and you can doubt his ability to donk the ball as hard as anyone in the game. There is no better player than Prithvi Shaw if you want to utilise the powerplay.

#2 Shubman Gill

Shaw's partner at the other end will be his U-19 partner from the 2018 World Cup, Shubman Gill. Gill was facing some criticism for his strike rate in the previous seasons for KKR. But, he has been very good at the top of the order striking at 152.67 in the IPL 2022. So, Gill becomes an automatic choice.

#3 Ishan Kishan

Well, the highest-paid player from the mega auction Ishan Kishan has not lived up to the reputation he has this season. However, we all know what the can bring to the table with his power hitting at the top of the order. Kishan can also open the inning for you if you want.

#4 Tilak Verma

Tilak Verma has been the find of the IPL till now. He was one of the members of the U19 World Cup in 2020. After a few good performances in the domestic white-ball tournaments, he was picked by Mumbai Indians. And, they are reaping off the results now.

Till now in his first 5 IPL games, Tilak has scored 157 runs at an average of 39.25 with a strike rate of 160.2.

#5 Dewald Brevis

The "Baby AB" from South Africa performed well in the limited chances he got. Though there are lots to be seen, he possesses game temperament and the power to win games for the team. He has a strike rate of 156.36 in the 3 matches he played in the IPL 2022 for Mumbai Indians.

#6 Ayush Badoni

The way Ayush Badoni finished two games for Lucknow Super Giants, he looked like a mature young cricketer. A few things to look at in his batting are - composure, 360-degree hitting ability and ability to finish the game for his team. Well, this is all you need from a number 7 of your team.

Badoni has scored 107 runs this season with a strike rate of 148.61. He also has an impressive average of 35.67 with the bat.

#7 Washington Sundar

The 22-year old all-rounder is already tired and tested at the international level. He can bowl for you in the powerplay and also in the middle overs. Moreover, he can also give you runs batting at the top of the order or in the lower order.

He can be the finisher of the team along with Ayush Badoni. In addition, he also brings the experience to the lineup as well which only has u-23 players.

#8 Marco Jansen

The South African all-rounder packs force in his batting and look like a solid inclusion in the bowling lineup as well. The tall left-arm can extract bounce from the wicket and also can use variation when needed as well. Moreover, he is good with yorkers as well. Hence, he becomes an invaluable inclusion in any T20 team.

#9 Ravi Bishnoi

Ravi Bishnoi was picked by the LSG franchise even before the mega auction. That gives the impression of what the franchise thought of this young leggie. Bishnoi also has experience at the international level and can be hard to pick for the batter who is yet to play him.

#10 Umraan Malik

If someone appears in the IPL 2022 News after every match, that is Umraan Malik. He is quick. He can bowl consistently over 145-150 kmph, which can be an ex-factor. Malik has already bowled the fastest delivery (153 kmph) of this season. However, he needs to be more accurate with the pace to strike more being a pace bowler.

#11 Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep was retained by the Punjab Kings franchise. This speaks volumes of his talent and skill as a bowler. The left-arm pacer will bring versatility to the bowling lineup. Moreover, he is good with those yorkers and slower deliveries at the death as well. So, he will bring that stability to the team's bowling lineup if something goes wrong at the death.
