IPL 2022: Punjab Kings looking to remake the full squad

Punjab Kings are looking to give a fresh start ahead of the IPL 2022. However, PBKS management is looking to build a new squad for their upcoming IPL season. All the 8 old IPL teams are going to announce their 3-4 retention picks within November 30. The mega auction for IPL 2022 will be held after the 2 new teams pick their 3 players within December 25.

KL Rahul is ending his journey with Punjab Kings. It is reported that he can join the Lucknow team. It is believed that Rahul will captain the Lucknow team. Apart from Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan is also eyeing the team of Lucknow and Ahmedabad.

Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul said that he is looking for a new team for the upcoming edition. So, there is a chance that PBKS management does not pick KL Rahul in their retention list. However, they might only pick Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh if they want to pick any Indian uncapped on their side.

Be it a mega auction of mini, Punjab Kings is one franchise that has always been among the busiest. The Preity Zinta co-owned side hasn't found success in the competition. Although, they virtually change and chop their squads almost in every season. In fact, they had last finished in the top four back in the IPL 2014 campaign.

Probable retention picks of Punjab Kings ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2022 :

As per a report in The Telegraph India, PBKS are looking at uncapped players like Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh as possible retentions but haven't made their mind yet. Since the franchise would only need to shell out INR 4 crore if they retain an uncapped player. With one of Arshdeep and Bishnoi could be persisted with.

As per reports, Punjab Kings will focus to build a new team with a new skipper on their side. So, it will be a tough fight for them to pick up their favourite player in the mega auction of IPL coming next January.
