Former wicketkeeper of South Africa, Mark Boucher has been appointed as the coach of the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL 2023 season. Meanwhile, he replaces Mahela Jayawardene, who has been given a wider role in the MI family. Boucher called this a challenge with the Mumbai Indians being one of the most successful sides in IPL history.

said Boucher in a statement

However, Boucher will replace Mahela Jayawardene as the head coach of five-time IPL champions. The club had recently revamped its current coaching setup, which was followed by the hiring of additional support staff.
Boucher is currently the head coach of South Africa but he will step down after the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 next month.
