The two month long competition has finally moved into the knockout phase of the tournament. The playoffs of IPL 2023 are going to start on Tuesday with the Qualifier 1. There are 70 matches that have been played in the group stage of the tournament with the last match being on the 21st of May. Here have a look at the playoff fixtures of IPL 2023 in this post.

IPL 2023 has been one of the most engaging seasons in history. The teams weren’t sure who will end up in the top four till the last match of the group stage. We have seen some of the most exciting matches with nail biting finishes. Also, some of the matches have been finished in the last ball of the game. In some matches low scores have been defended by the bowling teams. On the other hand, the batting teams have chased down the target of 200.

In this season we have seen some individual brilliance in the entire season. Shubman Gill, Cameron Green, and Virat Kohli made centuries on Sunday, and with their tons, the season of IPL 2023 become the edition with the most individual hundreds (10). In this season we have seen two five wicket hauls s far by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar & Mark Wood along with a hat trick from Rashid Khan against KKR.

The top four teams & Playoff Schedule of IPL 2023

The defending champions Gujarat Titans were the first team of IPL 2023 to reach the playoffs. They have a superb season this year finishing off the season with a comprehensive victory against RCB. They are at the top of the table with 10 wins out of 14 group stage games. Chennai Super Kings is the second team to qualify in the top four this year. They cemented their place in the last game against DC with a comprehensive win by a huge margin of 77 runs. These two teams will play Qualifier 1 of IPL 2023 at Chennai on 23rd May.

Apart from GT, all the other teams have qualified for the playoffs in their last group stage matches. LSG had a nail biting finish against KKR with a win by just one run and is placed in third place with 8 wins in the group stage. Mumbai Indians are the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2023 with their comprehensive victory against SRH. Mumbai and Lucknow will face at the Eliminator of IPL 2023 on 24th May.
