Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders. However, the start was not good for RCB, as they lost their captain Kohli in just 5 runs. After that the debutant KS Bharat and young star Devdutt Padikkal buids a god partnership. But fails in front of KKR’s pace bowler Lockie Ferguson. Moreover, all of the other batsman fails to stand against the Kolkata bowlers. And ended their innings in just 92 runs, losing all their wickets within 19 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Andre Russell took 3 wickets each to push RCB backwards. On the other hand, Lockie Ferguson takes 2 wickets along with Prasidh Krishna’s wicket of Kohli. This was a bad start for the RCB camp as they were in great touch in the first leg of IPL 2021.

Coming to bat, Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer easily chased down the total in just 10 overs. Shubman Gill scored 48 runs in just 34 balls with the help of 6 fours and a six. However, the other star in the opening pair was Venkatesh Iyer, who scored 41* runs in just 27 bowls and finishes with hitting back to back two four against Yuzvendra Chahal. The only wicket of Shubman Gill was picked by the RCB spinner Yuzi Chahal. As nothing was in favour for the Bangalore side in this match.

With this thumping win Kolkata Knight Riders are back in the playoffs race with 3 wins in 8 games. Now, Kolkata Knight Riders are in the fifth spot of the points table overtaking RR and PBKS.
