Indian women cricketer Punam Raut expresses her disappointment by sharing a tweet after her non-inclusion in the ICC Women's World Cup 2022 squad. BCCI women's selection committee has announced a 15-member women squad on Tuesday for the upcoming ICC Women's World Cup. Meanwhile, in the list, there are missing some big names like Shikha Pandey, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Punam Raut.

After the squad announcement on Tuesday, Punam Raut expresses his disappointment through her official Twitter handle. She said that she has been a consistent scorer for team India. Raut said that she is very disappointed to not be in the squad. She also added that she averages around 73.75 and scored 295 runs in 2021. Moreover, she added that she scored 2 half-centuries in six ODI games in the same year. Meanwhile, she is extremely disappointed being left out after being a consistent performer on the side. At last, she wishes good luck to all the players who will represent India in the Women's World Cup 2022.

"Having being considered amongst the experienced batsmen and a consistent run scorer for India. I am extremely dissapointed at not being a part of the World Cup squad. In 2021, I averaged 73.75, scoring 295 runs which included a hundred and 2 half centuries in the six ODI games that i played. It is very disheartening to be continuesly left out even after performing. Having said that I would like to extend my best wishes to all the players who will be representing India."

Mithali Raj will lead the side in the World Cup with vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Meanwhile, India women will start their World Cup 2022 campaign against their arch-rivals Pakistan on March 6. Before the World Cup India will play an ODI series against the black caps. However, this will be a pre-preparation for the World Cup.
