Chennai Super Kings registered the highest score ever at the Eden Gardens and in the Indian Premier League 2023 during the KKR vs CSK clash. CSK put up 235 for 4 against KKR on Sunday.CSK surpassed the previous high of 232, which was set by Kolkata Knight Riders against Mumbai Indians in 2019. Knight Riders won that game by 34 runs under the leadership of Dinesh Karthik.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway set the platform for CSK with a 73-run stand for the first wicket before Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane smashed blistering fifties to push it to a mammoth total. Rahane was the best among the CSK batters. He scored an unbeaten 71* off just 29 balls against his former team. He upped the run rate and hit 5 sixes and 6 boundaries on the day.
Rahane constructed an important partnership with Shivam Dube for the fourth wicket. The Indian duo added 85 runs off 32 balls. Dube played a blistering inning of 50 runs with 2 boundaries and 5 sixes. He completed his half-century in just 20 deliveries. Jadeja played a superb cameo and scored 18 in just 8 with 2 massive sixes in the final over. MS Dhoni came in for the final three deliveries of the match, but was only able to connect one ball, and scored 2 runs off it to long-off.
This is also the third-highest team score for Super Kings in the IPL. Their highest score is 246 for five against Rajasthan Royals in Chennai in 2010, followed by 240 for five against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali in 2008. This is also the highest score by any team in the IPL 2023.
