India legend pacer Jhulan Goswami opened up about how she decided to end her illustrious international career in England. She shared that, in the last two years, she thought every series she played in would be her last series because of the injuries and ups and downs she had to endure.

Goswami said that, even after the 2022 World Cup, she reckoned the following Sri Lanka tour would be her last series. But unfortunately, the star pacer got injured in the final match of the global tournament and was ruled out for the series in Sri Lanka.
She said that she considered retirement in the ODI series in England since it would be the last series before the T20 World Cup.
"Last two years I was thinking every series, each and every series is my last series because of injuries and ups and downs.
After the World Cup also, I thought maybe Sri Lanka tour will be my last series, but again I got injured in the last match of the World Cup and wasn't fit enough to travel to Sri Lanka."

"This (England tour) is the last ODI series before the T20 World Cup, so why not this series," said the former India captain.
When asked what her teammates had planned for her in her farewell series, she said that everyone has done different things and that she has been receiving one surprise after another.
"Smriti, Harman, and everyone are doing different stuff at the moment for me, giving me one surprise after another. This is an absolutely new dressing room and I'm enjoying each and every moment."
Goswami will undoubtedly go down as one of the best players. She also currently has the second longest career in both ODIs and Tests, spanning close to 20 years.
