Cricket South Africa is now going to launch a brand new franchise T20 tournament in association with SuperSport. The league will commence on 23 January right after South Africa returns from its tour to Australia. This latest cricket news is indeed a great one and the cricket fans are very excited about it.

Pholetsi Moseki, CSA CEO announced, "We are excited by the formation of something this fresh and invigorating, which also offers the opportunity for private investment into the franchises. CSA has already received interest from a number of potential local and international investors."

As per the latest cricket news, a player auction is going to occur for this T20 league later. Also, they will feature overseas players in the league. Every team can take a maximum of overseas cricketers in their playing XI. A company formed by both CSA and SuperSport will be looking after the entire league. The release stated, "The company is looking at a very attractive player salary bill per team that will rival other leagues around the world outside of the IPL."

This new league will have 6 privately-owned franchises and they will complete again each other twice in a round-robin stage. 3 teams will reach the playoffs at the end. In a time span of 3-4 weeks, a total of 33 matches will be played.

Marc Jury, the CEO of SuperSport, said, "We are delighted to invest in a product that will change the face of South African cricket. There is an early-year gap in the calendar, so the timing is ideal."
