Bengal wicket-keeper batter Abishek Porel has replaced Rishabh Pant in the Delhi Capitals team for IPL 2023. Rishabh Pant will be out of cricket for a few more months and Delhi franchise were looking at players like Abishek Porel to replace him in the squad. The 20-year-old wicket-keeper was able to impress Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting in the trials and now wants to gain as much experience from this opportunity.
Just like Rishabh Pant, Porel is a lefthanded attacking batter who does not think twice before sending the balls over the boundary line. Abishek has already played two seasons for Bengal and was a member of the ICC U-19 World Cup winning team in 2022.

I want to keep doing what I have done so far in my career,” he added.

This is just the start for me and he told me to do my best if my opportunity comes.”
