India Women's skipper Mithali Raj on Sunday became only the second Indian cricketer to play in six ODI World Cups. She achieved the feat when India takes on Pakistan in the ongoing Women's World Cup 2022 here in Mount Maunganui. Meanwhile, she is the only third cricketer (both men's and women's) to play in six ODI World Cups.
Mithali Raj is the third cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar and Javed Miandad to play in six ODI World Cups. With this, she has also become the first women's cricketer to play in six ODI World Cups. Mithali had made her World Cup debut back in 2000. Since then she has played in 2000, 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, and now in the 2022 World Cup.
Speaking about representing India at the grandest stages of them all, Indian captain Mithali had asserted that her career has come full circle.
"I have come a long way from the 2000 World Cup, that also in New Zealand. I missed (matches of) that World Cup because of typhoid and here I am. It has come a full circle and I am looking forward to finishing the journey."

Mithali was asked about her preparation for going into the world cup, she said that she's been focusing on the basics and making sure her basics are strong while playing in big matches and handling high-pressure situations.
